Backup protection for a failed bilge pump or switch.
Panel lights up and alarm sounds if bilge pump or float switch fails.
Requires separate float switches for pump & alarm.
- An additional float switch must be installed to activate the alarm on this
panel (this float switch is in addition to the existing float switch which
activates the bilge pump).
- This additional float switch activates the alarm on this panel only; it does
not activate the bilge pump.
- The float switch that you are installing to activate the alarm should be
mounted approximately 8 inches (200 mm) above the existing float switch
that operates the bilge pump.
- A two conductor electrical cable (minimum #16 gauge marine grade
electrical wire) should then be routed from second float switch to the
location on the Bilge Water Alarm Panel.
- Connect wiring on back of Bilge Water Alarm Panel as follows: The alarm
should be tested by manually causing the additional float switch to rise,
therefore setting off the alarm. To replace or check fuse unscrew fuse cap
and inspect. Fuse rating should not exceed 10 Amp.
