- Attach motor
bracket board to aluminum side plates with enclosed fasteners as shown
in illustration.
- Place assembled unit in desired location of the transom. Make sure
that the auxiliary motor will be at the height recommended by the manufacturer
and that its movement will not be obstructed by the main motor or rudder.
- Make sure the desired location of the bracket and auxiliary motor will not interfere
with the free movement of the main motor or rudder through its entire
swing.
- After finding
a clear location on the transom for the bracket, mark the four mounting
holes on the transom by using the bracket as a template. Drill 11/32"
holes perpendicular to transom and use installer supplied 5/16" diameter
stainless steel carriage bolts with flat washers and nylon insert lock
nuts on the inside of the transom. Transom should be reinforced if thickness
is less than 1", usually done by using marine grade plywood.
- Apply a marine
sealant on the mounting bracket surfaces which contact the transom and
in the bolt holes through the transom and tighten the nuts securely.
Important:
Rated for 2 stroke motors only to 10 H.P. Always use a safety chain
on the motor. Keep away from motor when in operation. Periodically check
fasteners for tightness, retighten if needed. Motor should be removed
from bracket when trailering.
